Joining our research group
Contact us if you are interested in modelling living systems using mathematical, statistical or computational tools.
Scholarships are available for talented, enthusiastic students looking to start a PhD. Citizens and permanent residents of Australia and NZ are eligible to apply for APAs. Otherwise you can apply for international postgraduate awards, which are highly competitive — to be in the running, you need to demonstrate that you are among the top students in your cohort. More information about scholarships can be found on the GRS website.
If you are interested, email Mark. It would help if you could send 1) your CV and 2) a statement of your research interests (1-2 pages), in particular, what attracts you to this group. Applications deadlines are approximately: 12 May, 18 August, 11 October. Check GRS site for exact details and make sure you contact us well in advance of these deadlines.
If you are looking for a postdoc position, email Mark to discuss possibilities. Send your CV and also a statement of your research interests if possible.
If you are an undergraduate student interested in doing Honours here, we are looking for students with a background in biology with an interest in picking up skills in computational biology, data analysis or modelling; we also seek students with a strong background in quantitative sciences such as computing, mathematics, physics or statistics, and an interest evolutionary biology. If that's you, send Mark your CV and a copy of your transcript (doesn't have to be an official copy).
